Dr Chia Hui Ling is an experienced female plastic surgeon known for her personalised approach to patient care. Her plastic surgery experience spans Singapore, South Korea and the United Kingdom, allowing her to bring
together international perspectives and advanced surgical techniques in her practice.
Dr Chia graduated from Barts and the Royal London Medical School in London. She is a Member of the Royal
College of Surgeons of England and a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine Singapore.
Prior to entering private practice, Dr Chia served as a consultant plastic surgeon within Singapore’s public
healthcare system under Singapore Health Services. During her time at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital,
she started Singapore’s first infant ear moulding service, reflecting her dedication to advancing paediatric
plastic surgery services locally.
Dr Chia underwent advanced fellowship training in plastic surgery at the JW Lee Center for Global Medicine, Seoul National University Hospital (SNUH), South Korea. She also completed further subspecialty training in craniomaxillofacial surgery in the United Kingdom under the AO CMF Fellowship Programme.
Her international training and contributions to the field have been recognised through several prestigious awards, including the Fellowship Award from Seoul National University Hospital (SNUH), the JW Lee Centre for Global Medicine Fellowship Award in Plastic Surgery, and the AO Craniomaxillofacial Fellowship Award.
Apart from her clinical work, Dr Chia remains actively involved in research and education within the field
of plastic surgery. She has authored numerous scientific journal articles and book chapters across areas of
reconstructive and aesthetic surgery.
Her research efforts have also been recognised through multiple research grant awards in Singapore and the
United Kingdom. In addition to her academic work, Dr Chia has been featured in the media for her
perspectives on plastic surgery, breast reconstruction and aesthetic treatments.
Passionate about breast reconstruction advocacy, Dr Chia co-founded Breast Reconstruction Awareness
Singapore (BRAS), a non-profit organisation that supports breast cancer survivors through education,
awareness and community support.
She is also a volunteer plastic surgeon with Smile Asia, a global alliance of charities that provides
surgical treatment for facial deformities through humanitarian missions and public education initiatives.
In addition, Dr Chia serves on the executive committees of the Singapore Association of Plastic Surgeons and
the Singapore Society of Cosmetic and Aesthetic Surgeons.
Outside of medicine, Dr Chia enjoys spending time with her family. She is married to an avid gardener, who
is also a plastic surgeon, and together they have two children who regularly take part in their lively
botanical and surgical discussions.
Dr Chia enjoys cooking, yoga and is a budding botanical illustrator.
